Covid-19 Control Room Compliance

Covid-19 Control Room Compliance

Is your Control Room Covid-19 compliant?

Government requires that every Company, irrespective of size, apply the latest Government Gazette 43400 dated 4th June 2020 “ Disaster Management Act (57/2002): Direction by the Minister of Employment and Labour in terms of Regulation 4 (10) of the Regulations R480 of 29April 2020 to its workplace”.

This Directive stipulates that all Companies must have:

  1. COVID-19 Risk Assessment
  2. COVID-19 Management Plan
  3. COVID-19 Employee Training
  4. COVID-19 Compliance Officer appointed

The Department of Employment and Labour are carrying out random inspections on Workplaces and if non-compliance is established regarding COVID-19 the Company may be closed down until such time that they have complied.

Likewise should it be established that the Company has a COVID-19 positive employee and no systems are in place the Company may be closed down for a minimum of two weeks before being allowed to operate again once compliance has been achieved.

Control Room compliance with Covid-19 policies and regulations is mandatory, however fulfilling these requirements is challenging for many security Control Room operations. Structural limitations, the need to share resources and stressed budgets, have many business owners and department managers wondering how they can achieve compliance with Covid-19 regulations.
